About the One Young World Summit
One Young World is a global forum that connects the world’s most impactful young leaders, providing them with a platform to present their solutions to the most pressing global challenges.
The 2025 Summit will take place in Munich, Germany, from November 3rd to 6th. This year promises to bring together inspiring individuals from around the globe to engage in meaningful dialogue, share experiences, and cultivate collaborations for a better future.
About the Scholarship
Following the overwhelming success of the Ilia Calderón Scholarship in previous years (2021-2024), the organizers are excited to once again provide two exceptional Afro-descendant leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean the opportunity to attend this transformative event.
What This Scholarship Provides
The selected scholars will enjoy a fully-funded experience that includes:
- Access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich.
- Private room accommodation from November 2nd to 6th, 2025.
- Economy class travel expenses to and from Munich.
- Coverage of domestic travel costs to the airport for international flights (economy class).
- Visa costs, if necessary.
- Transportation between the Summit accommodation and the venue.
- Meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by the hotel and during the Summit.
- Translation services from English to Spanish during plenary sessions, welcome and closing events.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Ilia Calderón Scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be aged 18 to 30 at the time of the One Young World Summit.
- Hold nationality from one of the following countries: Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Guyana, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to benefit their communities and territories.
- Showcase relevance and impact through the initiatives they lead or participate in.
- Exhibit proven leadership capabilities and creativity in addressing local and/or global issues.
- Have a strong motivation to participate in the One Young World Summit.

Candidates are invited to submit their applications by April 13, 2025. To ensure a strong application, potential applicants are encouraged to consider the following tips for success:
