Position: Communications Assistant
Organization Background

Reports To: Communications and Knowledge Management Officer
Department: Corporate Services
Job Purpose
The Communications Assistant will support the internal and external communications of KCIC to ensure consistent brand messaging, enhance visibility, and aid program objectives through strategic content creation and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Communications & Social Media Management: Manage social media channels, develop content calendars, and engage with online communities.
- Content Creation & Multimedia Production: Produce written content and create visual media that communicates KCIC’s impact.
- Program Communications & Stakeholder Engagement: Document success stories and support donor reporting.
- Event Coordination & Media Relations: Assist with logistics for events and draft media communication materials.
- Internal Communications & Administrative Support: Prepare internal newsletters and maintain communication databases.
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting: Analyze communication campaigns and integrate feedback for continuous improvement.
- Brand Management & Consistency: Ensure proper use of KCIC’s brand assets and monitor all communication materials for consistency.
Professional Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in communications or digital marketing, preferably in the development sector.
- Proficiency in design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media management tools.
Key Competences
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in social media management and digital analytics tools.

Position: Research Officer
Job Purpose
The Research Officer will conduct research to inform KCIC programs, manage projects, ensure ethical compliance, analyze data, and prepare reports. The role includes collaboration with stakeholders and supporting research dissemination.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform relevant research for program development and implementation.
- Manage routine research unit activities and ensure ethical research compliance.
- Lead data management and analyses, working closely with the M&E team.
- Prepare reports, articles, and presentations during meetings and program site visits.
- Contribute to resource mobilization through proposal writing and donor relationship development.
Professional Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Master’s degree in Research Studies, Environment and Climate Change, Geography, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of research experience.
- Familiarity with statistical and qualitative software (e.g., STATA, R, NVivo) is a plus.
Key Competences
- Experience managing research teams and engaging with policymakers.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
